Petition: Tell the White House and U.S. EPA to Finalize the Lead and Copper Rule ASAP
Earlier this year, we shared the opportunity to push the U.S. EPA to make the strongest possible regulations for how lead is monitored in your drinking water and how critical updates and safety information reach families. The new Lead and Copper Rule must be finalized as soon as possible. You can sign this petition today to tell President Biden that we have waited long enough for stronger protections from lead in drinking water. Please sign and share our petition by Sunday, May 26, 2024.
Freshwater Future at River Rally: Heroes, Lead Education, and Water Affordability!
Freshwater Future was honored as the inaugural organizational recipient of the River Hero Award at River Rally this week in Grand Rapids, MI. Jill Ryan, Freshwater Future’s Executive Director said of the award, “This award is really for our many amazing grassroots partners across the region. Freshwater Future is proud to accept this award as a recognition for the hard work, dedication, and impact of local advocates fighting for the people and waters of the Great Lakes.”
In addition to the award, Freshwater Future program staff led a session on Freshwater Future’s NO lead is safe in drinking water education and advocacy across the Great Lakes. Jill Ryan was also a part of a panel discussion about policy action from the ground up and presented on the urgent need for intervention in the water affordability crisis.
