Petition: Tell the White House and U.S. EPA to Finalize the Lead and Copper Rule ASAP
You may have heard the claim that the nation’s lead pipes will be replaced in ten years. The new Lead and Copper Rule would bring many important improvements for how lead is monitored in your drinking water and how critical updates and safety information reach families. However, these vital changes cannot begin to help families and communities until it is finalized. You can sign this petition today to tell President Biden that we have waited long enough for stronger protections from lead in drinking water. Maternal Health Awareness Month: Join Wisdom Institute Listening Partners!
It is Maternal Health Awareness Month and the connection to clean, safe, and accessible water is crystal clear (pun intended). According to the Centers for Disease Control, Black women are three times more likely to die from a pregnancy-related cause than white women. Several disparities contribute to this injustice including variations in healthcare, structural racism, biases, and environment. Wisdom Institute is centering water as a human right by focusing on reproductive justice through their Learning Partners program. The session provides training in the Art of Listening and provides a sacred space for Black women to heal, share their experiences, and find strength.
