For the second year in a row, Freshwater Future has analyzed and rated each Great Lakes state's Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (SRF) program in a Report Card. This important fund allows water systems to apply for loans and grants to keep drinking water safe, accessible, and affordable. Congress passed an infrastructure bill in 2021 that triples these funds for 5 years with record benefits for disadvantaged communities.
Transparency was added to the 2024 version to show how much information is being publicly shared. Grades are assigned through a color-coded system of red, yellow, and green.
