Lake Erie Watershed Association Formed

Lake Erie Watershed Association Formed

Wouldn’t it be great if each Lake Erie tributary had its own watershed association? A new environmental group was formed in Northwest Pennsylvania to do just that!

The Pennsylvania Lake Erie Watershed Association (PLEWA), located in Erie, Pennsylvania, was formed this year by members of various environmental groups and local governmental agencies working on environmental issues in the Lake Erie Watershed. In addition to conducting stream restoration projects, the group plans to work toward the goal of having each Lake Erie tributary establish its own watershed association and to help coordinate the efforts and programs of all the local watershed groups (several of which already exist). In addition, PLEWA will work to establish a working relationship with developers to educate on the idea of sustainable land development.
