HOW Coalition Teaming Up with Freshwater Future to Help Groups Make restoration efforts a Success

With the release of the EPA’s new restoration funding opportunities as part of the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative (GLRI) to restore the Great Lakes, the Healing Our Waters (HOW) Coalition has added a new on-the-ground initiative to their campaign. This new work is being managed by Freshwater Future.

“The HOW Coalition is excited to work with Freshwater Future,” states Jennifer Hill, Great Lakes Restoration Campaign Coordinator for the National Wildlife Federation. “They are leaders in the Great Lakes region with the expertise to help groups succeed with on-the-ground projects.”

At the core of this initiative is a grants program to help groups with their federal grant application needs and capacity-related needs of a GLRI funded project. These grants will be available to groups in priority areas, which are currently being selected. The priority areas will include some of the most significant restoration needs.
