The Minnesota Sea Grant Website has been revamped, and offers 500 images from around the Great Lakes, a compendium of Great Lakes definitions, research information, fact sheets, news, and publication request forms. www.seagrant.umn.edu

The Great Lakes Commission has created a product that provides students and teachers with a new source for Great Lakes educational materials. The website features mini-lessons on Great Lakes topics geared for elementary through high school students. www.great-lakes.net/teach/

New publications now available from the Center for Watershed Protection include the following:

Urban Stream Restoration Practices: An Initial Assessment
This is a publication with many photos, which assesses the performance of 24 urban stream restoration practices from sites in the Mid-Atlantic and Mid-west, and includes recommendations for improving their application in a variety of urban stream environments. Cost: $20

The Practice of Watershed Protection
This hardcover book provides over 800 pages of feature articles and technical notes from the past seven years of Techniques. Cost: $80, available for delivery in January
