third conference on Lake Huron’s coastal
environment is “Lake Huron- Is it really the
new pollution “hot spot” on the Great Lakes?”
The emphasis will be on the implications of impacts to
Lake Huron’s coast, the current state of coastal ecosystems,
and discussion of initiatives being undertaken to address

July 21, 2004, Restoring Fish and Wildlife in Michigan’s Great
Lakes Areas of Concern, Monroe, Michigan. Sponsored by the
Great Lakes Commission, this workshop will outline a process
for achieving restoration goals for fish and wildlife impairments
in Michigan’s Great Lakes Areas of Concern. Presentations
will assess the status of restoration efforts and provide a
recommended “pathway” for establishing measurable habitat

This year’s symposium will be held at the beautiful
Cedar Glen facilities, just outside Toronto, Ontario on October 16, 2004.
The annual symposium for GLAHNF grantees and other grassroots activists will focus on
aquatic habitat issues, skills development, and recharging ourselves for our work.
Meetings will include a grassroots grantee panel, a keynote speaker,
workshops, networking, recreation, good food, and opportunities
to learn from other activists doing similar work.
