Dombind Phase-Out and Oak Ridges Moraine Protection Campaigns Press On

The Federation of Ontario (FON) continues its advocacy work with other conservation groups on high-profile aquatic habitat campaigns covered in the past two issues of Habitat News: the phase-out of the dioxin-containing road dust suppresssant Dombind (an uphill battle with a paper company suffering from bad attitude) and the struggle to seek better protections for the Oak Ridges Moraine in the face of heavy pressures for urban development in the Toronto area (another case of bad attitude, this time on the part of the Harris government). For Oak Ridges Moraine updates, please see the FON website at www.ontarionature.org and the website of the Save the Oak Ridges Moraine Coalition at www.stormco.org For Dombind updates, please contact Linda Pim at the FON at lindap@ontarionature.org or call her at (416) 444-8419 ext. 243
