Growing Greener

In Summer 2001 the Lake Erie-Allegheny Earth Force was awarded a Growing Greener grant in the amount of $114,339 from the PDEP; the organization has raised $40,366 to partially match the grant dollars. The grant will be used toward developing a Lake Erie Watershed Education Program which they expect will reach 3,000 students and teachers. “It’s important to make people aware that they live in a watershed”, said Sister Pat Lupo of LE-AEF. “What we do and how we treat the area affects the quality of life.” See p. 11 for an additional Growing Greener grant.
